1. Acceptance of Terms
By accessing or using the TECDE website at tecde.info (the "Site"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Use (the "Terms"). If you do not agree to these Terms, please do not use the Site.
These Terms apply to all visitors, users, and others who access or use the Site. TECDE reserves the right to update these Terms at any time. Continued use of the Site after any changes constitutes your acceptance of the revised Terms.
2. About TECDE
TECDE — The Entrepreneurs' Club / Des Entrepreneurs is a student-run organization affiliated with the Telfer School of Management at the University of Ottawa. The Site is operated for informational and organizational purposes to serve current and prospective members, sponsors, and the broader university community.
3. Permitted Use
You may use the Site for lawful purposes only. You agree not to:
- Use the Site in any way that violates applicable federal, provincial, or local laws or regulations.
- Submit false, misleading, or fraudulent information through any form on the Site.
- Attempt to gain unauthorized access to any part of the Site or its underlying systems.
- Use automated tools (bots, scrapers, crawlers) to extract content from the Site without our prior written consent.
- Transmit any unsolicited or unauthorized advertising, spam, or promotional material.
- Interfere with or disrupt the integrity or performance of the Site.
- Impersonate TECDE, its executives, or any other person or entity.
4. Intellectual Property
All content on the Site — including but not limited to text, graphics, logos, photographs, event descriptions, and the overall design — is the property of TECDE or its content suppliers and is protected by applicable Canadian copyright and intellectual property laws.
You may view and print pages from the Site for personal, non-commercial use only. You may not reproduce, distribute, modify, create derivative works from, publicly display, or otherwise exploit any content from the Site without our prior written permission.
The TECDE name, logo, and related marks are the property of TECDE. Nothing on the Site grants any license or right to use these marks without our express written consent.
5. User Submissions
When you submit information through our forms (membership applications, team applications, sponsorship inquiries, newsletter sign-ups, or contact messages), you represent that the information you provide is accurate, complete, and your own.
By submitting information, you grant TECDE a non-exclusive, royalty-free license to use that information for the purposes described in our Privacy Policy.
6. External Links
The Site contains links to third-party websites, including event ticketing platforms (evelya.co), Instagram, and LinkedIn. These links are provided for your convenience only. TECDE does not endorse, control, or assume responsibility for the content, privacy practices, or availability of any third-party sites.
Your use of any linked third-party site is at your own risk and subject to that site's own terms and conditions.
7. Disclaimer of Warranties
The Site and its content are provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis, without warranties of any kind, either express or implied. TECDE makes no representations or warranties regarding the accuracy, completeness, reliability, or timeliness of any content on the Site.
Event details (dates, venues, ticket prices) are subject to change. Always verify event information through official ticketing channels before making plans.
8. Limitation of Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, TECDE, its executives, members, and affiliates shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of, or inability to use, the Site or its content.
TECDE's total liability to you for any claim arising from your use of the Site shall not exceed the amount you paid to TECDE in the twelve months preceding the claim (if any).
9. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the Province of Ontario and the federal laws of Canada applicable therein, without regard to conflict of law principles. Any disputes arising under these Terms shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Ontario.
10. Severability
If any provision of these Terms is found to be invalid or unenforceable, that provision shall be modified to the minimum extent necessary to make it enforceable, and the remaining provisions shall continue in full force and effect.
